Domain Name Escrow, Paid in Crypto

Selling a domain to a buyer who wants to pay in Bitcoin? Buying one from a seller you met on a forum? Domain deals are a classic escrow use case, but mainstream escrow platforms treat crypto as an expensive afterthought. We are crypto-native: the coins are held until the domain is in your registrar account.

Start an Escrow Transaction How It Works

The domain transfer window is the risk

A domain transfer takes anywhere from minutes (push within the same registrar) to 5-7 days (inter-registrar transfer). That window is exactly when payment disputes happen. With escrow, the buyer's crypto is verifiably locked before the seller initiates transfer, and the seller knows the money cannot be pulled back.

How a crypto domain escrow works

Open a transaction describing the domain and price. The buyer deposits BTC, USDT, ETH or LTC and we verify it on-chain. The seller pushes or transfers the domain. Once the buyer confirms the domain has arrived in their registrar account, we release the funds.

Fees that make small domain deals viable

Traditional escrow charges 3%+ plus crypto disbursement charges that can hit $250, which is absurd on a $500 domain. Our flat 1% fee keeps escrow sensible for any deal size.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I buy a domain name with Bitcoin safely?
Never send BTC directly to a domain seller. Open an escrow transaction, deposit the Bitcoin with the escrow service, and only confirm release after the domain is transferred into your registrar account.
How long does a domain escrow take?
Same-registrar pushes complete within hours; inter-registrar transfers take up to 7 days. The crypto stays safely in escrow for the entire window at no extra cost.
